ARIZONA VORTEX MULTIPOD

Version 2.0

The ARIZONA VORTEX MULTIPOD v.2.0 from Thompson Manufacturing Inc. (Rock Exotica) is the most versatile and state of the art artificial high directional (AHD) available to rescue and rope access in industry. With training from Ropes That Rescue (the "Arizona" designer), you may use this high directional in a variety of ways and in any number of environments from industry to wilderness. The ARIZONA VORTEX MULTIPOD, or "AZVM", is ideal for confined space rescue, mine rescue, cliff rescue and industrial rescue. It is also well suited to bridge inspectors, rope access, the construction trades and the movie industry.

ARIZONA VORTEX MULTIPOD 3 FOOT OPTIONS

Each Standard Kit required three (3) separate feet. Order separately. You may order as many or as few as you want. If you have MIXED environments (rock/soil and industrial), you may want all three full sets (total 9). If you are only a wilderness rescue team, you may want only the Raptor Feet. Industry would use all three at times.

  1. OMNI FOOT (industrial or structural)
  2. RAPTOR FOOT (rock or soil - some industrial grating)
  3. BLUNT FOOT (miscilaneous surfaces)
  • NOTE: All feet come with a quick pin to connect it to leg
  • NOTE: All feet require an extra foot bag. Foot bags come in two (2) options:
    1. Single foot set bag (holds three feet of same style)
    2. Triple foot set bag (holds all three sets: Omni, Raptor and Blunt)

ARIZONA VORTEX MULTIPOD OPTIONAL ITEMS

While the Standard Kit will certainly be enough for most situations, some teams will pick up a few extra items to extend the capability of the AZVM. For instance, if the rescue team wishes to build a high equal-sided tripod 10' in height for confined space entry with plenty of head room, ordering 2 extra lower legs (making the total nine (9) instead of seven (7) will allow each leg of the tripod to have three (3) total lower legs.

FOR OPTIONAL 10' HIGH TRIPOD:

  • EXTRA LOWER LEG - order two (2) to make a total of nine (9) in your set
  • NOTE: If ordering two (2) extra lower legs, the total of 9 legs will fit 3 to a bag. 9 legs will fit into 3 bags.

SPARE PARTS:

  • EXTRA QUICK PINS (3/8" and 1/2" in case one is lost or dropped)
  • EXTRA 2" SHEAVE(3/8" and 1/2" in case one is lost or dropped)
  • ADDITIONAL OMNI BLOCKS (Ideal for the AZVM and made by Thompson Manufacturing as well. Have at least two single sheave pulleys)

COMING SOON FROM ROCK THOMPSON AND REED THORNE:

  • OMNI RESULTANT FINDER PULLEY - Blue laser in pulley insures that the force on the AZVM is within limits. Coming soon
